This homeowner in Prairieville was looking to create a functional outdoor space that could be used comfortably all year long. The vision was to transform a basic backyard into a welcoming extension of the home—perfect for relaxing, entertaining, and enjoying Louisiana’s changing seasons.
The goal was to install a covered patio that would offer shade, protection from the elements, and aesthetic continuity with the home’s existing architecture. It also needed to include durable materials capable of withstanding Louisiana’s heat and humidity while maintaining a comfortable, stylish atmosphere.
The existing patio area had poor drainage and no cover, making it unusable during rain or high temperatures. The homeowner also wanted to incorporate lighting and ceiling fans, which required coordinated electrical planning.
We poured and leveled a new concrete patio base, then installed a custom aluminum patio cover with built-in guttering and water runoff control. Electrical connections were included for outdoor lighting and fans. The cover was color-matched to the home’s exterior and installed with clean lines for a modern look.
The finished patio instantly elevated the backyard, adding usable square footage and enhancing property value. The homeowner now has a cool, protected space that’s perfect for morning coffee, weekend BBQs, and hosting friends year-round. The transformation turned an overlooked area into a feature destination.
